Prerequisites

Completion of introductory anchor handling courses - e.g. Anchor Handling & DP Operation - and prior offshore experience in a role such as a winch or boat driver during at least one anchor handling operation recommended .

Who is it for?

The course is tailored for experienced offshore personnel, such as vessel captains, officers, and crew members engaged in anchor handling operations. Offshore project managers and construction managers may also participate if accompanied by qualified deck or engine officers.

Assessment

The course includes an assessment comprising behavioural markers demonstrated during simulator exercises and a written test on the final day.

Certification

Successful participants receive a Maersk Training course certificate upon passing the assessment.

Handling operations such as lay barge work, floating wind turbine installations, and large chain handling.

Identifying and using various anchor types, shark jaws, and anchor recovery frames safely.

Understanding pre-laid mooring systems, tensioning systems, and coordinating ROV operations during mooring installation.
