“The first time I got to test our Multi-Purpose Marine Simulator, I was floored,” Tim recalls with a laugh. “The realism was so intense, I actually felt seasick!” For a Digital Marketing Manager, it was an eye-opening experience into the world of immersive, high-stakes training that his team helps promote every day.
But how did a self-professed data enthusiast and passionate gamer end up riding digital waves at a global maritime training company? For Tim, the answer was clear from the start: impact.
“I loved the idea of applying my digital marketing skills to something meaningful,” he says. “When I saw the chance to help drive growth for a company that’s shaping industries like maritime and renewables, I knew it was where I wanted to be.”
From Data to Clients: Tim’s Marketing Mission
Tim’s role at Maersk Training might sound familiar—content strategies, social media campaigns, website management—but behind every campaign is a mission: to elevate the brand and help industries around the world discover innovative training solutions.
“I’m the guy behind all the campaigns you see online,” Tim says. “My job is to make sure people know who we are and what we offer, driving traffic and growth for the business.”
A typical day for Tim? It’s anything but ordinary. One minute, he’s knee-deep in analytics, measuring the performance of a new campaign. The next, he’s brainstorming creative ideas with his team or collaborating with colleagues in different time zones to align global marketing efforts.
“It’s always busy, but that’s what makes it fun,” he says. “I get to be creative, but I also get to dive into the data and see real results.”

One of the crowning moments of Tim’s journey so far? The launch of Maersk Training’s new website.
“It was a massive team effort,” Tim beams. “We redesigned the entire site to make it more user-friendly, engaging, and representative of all that Maersk Training offers. Seeing it live and knowing it’s making it easier for clients to navigate our services—it’s incredibly rewarding.”
But Tim isn’t just focused on the present—he’s got his eyes on the horizon, watching the digital marketing landscape evolve. “Things like AI and data analytics are going to change the game,” he says.
“We’re going to see more personalized, automated marketing, and staying ahead of those trends will be key for us.”
Collaborating Across Oceans
For Tim, one of the most exciting parts of his role is the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from all over the world. Maersk Training operates globally, and that means Tim’s digital marketing campaigns need to resonate in different regions and cultures.
“I work with instructors, site leads, and sales teams across various time zones,” Tim explains. “It’s important that our messaging hits the mark no matter where it’s seen, and that requires a lot of coordination and understanding of different markets.”
Despite the challenges of managing global campaigns, Tim thrives in this diverse, collaborative environment.
“I love that I get to work with people from so many different backgrounds,” he says. “It keeps things fresh and exciting.”
