Rigging Loft Management
To provide persons involved with rigging loft management with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge of:
- Requirements for the marking of lifting components
- Pre / Post user control and correct storage of equipment
- Discard criteria
- Recommended practice – BS 7121, LOLER 1998
- Enterprise of Competence & end user equipment inspection
To provide persons involved with Rigging loft, knowledge of:
- Roles and responsibilities
- Issuing and return of lifting equipment
Familiarization with the lifting equipment found in a rigging loft.
Theoretical training covering :
- Knowledge of lifting equipment marking requirements
- Examples of damaged equipment and procedure for quarantined equipment
- Various registration systems e.g. T-card systems
- Conversant with the term “thorough examination”
Practical training covering:
- Demonstrate pre and post inspections
- Running an operational rigging loft
- Storage equipment,.
- Visual check of lifting equipment
- Pre-post check on lifting equipment, search for discard criteria
- Demonstrate pre and post inspections.
- Show knowledge of the regulations regarding marking, documentation, use, maintenance, daily inspection and discard criteria of lifting gear
- Choose correct lifting equipment.
- Running an operational rigging loft
- Knowledge of lifting equipment marking requirements
