OPITO Major Emergency Management Initial Response MEMIR
Purpose
This course is designed to provide an introduction to the skills and techniques required to manage a major emergency. It provides the theoretical framework for effective decision-making and the opportunity to participate in practical training in emergency management as both a Team Member and as the Emergency Manager (EM).
Content
The course is conducted over a period of four days and comprises a blend of classroom theory lessons, table-top exercises, workshops, case-studies and practical scenario-driven exercises.
Participants will receive a personal debrief and a final appraisal of readiness for formal assessment in accordance with OPITO guidelines. The course is delivered by Instructors with personal experience as the EM and of delivering Emergency Response training worldwide.
