This course is delivered as a fully-virtual, instructor-led training using Microsoft Teams. Practical assessment for these courses are delivered virtually, via a cloud-based Well Control Simulation program (where required).

Prerequisites

Participants should have:

  • A valid IADC WellSharp certification at the Driller level or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in drilling operations and basic well control knowledge.

Assessment

Practical assessments, including simulator-based exercises and scenario-based evaluations. Successful completion of the course, coupled with a minimum score of 75% on the written assessment and 70% on the practical skills assessment, will earn you the IADC WellSharp Supervisor Level certification, valid for two years.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive the IADC WellSharp Supervisor Level certificate, valid for two years and recognized globally in the oil and gas industry.

Advanced Well Control Theory:

Understanding the principles of well control, including kick detection, shut-in methods, and pressure control techniques.

Well Control Procedures and Equipment:

Training on the use of blowout preventers (BOPs), chokes, diverters, and other well control equipment.

Kick Detection and Response:

Techniques for early kick detection, kick tolerance, and response strategies to prevent blowouts.

Pressure Management:

Understanding formation pressures, hydrostatics, and the use of surface and subsea BOP systems.

Emergency Preparedness and Leadership:
