Essential Information

Prerequisites:
- Participants should be medically fit and capable of fully participating in the practical components of the training. Additionally, they must have a valid GWO Working at Heights certificate.

Who is it for?
- This course is intended for personnel working on WTGs where the use of service lifts is required for the transportation of personnel and equipment inside the turbine.

Assessment:
- Participants will be evaluated through practical exercises and theoretical assessments to demonstrate competence in operating service lifts safely.

Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants receive a GWO-approved Service Lift User certificate. The certification does not have an expiration date; however, it is recommended that individuals remain actively engaged in lift operations to maintain proficiency.
Course content
Introduction to Service Lifts:
Understanding the purpose, types, and guiding systems of service lifts used in WTGs.
Pre-Use Inspections:
Learning to perform thorough inspections before operating the lift, including checking safety devices, structural integrity, and operational functionality.
Safe Operation Procedures:
Gaining knowledge of standard operating procedures, including load limits, communication protocols, and emergency stop functions.
Handling Emergency Stop and Safety Systems:
Familiarising with the emergency stop functions and other built-in safety systems specific to WTG service lifts.
Emergency Actions and Evacuation:
Developing the ability to execute emergency procedures, such as safe evacuations and managing lift malfunctions.
Post-Use Inspections and Maintenance:
Learning to conduct post-use inspections and report any issues to ensure ongoing lift safety and reliability.
