Purpose
This is Year 2 of Maersk Training’s DP Continuing Professional Development (CPD) 5-year training programme. Approved by the Nautical Institute (NI), this is for DPOs who perform a safety critical role onboard offshore DP vessels.
The learning programme, available on desktop and mobile devices, refreshes technical knowledge of the latest industry practices, industry guidance, DP safety bulletins, DP exercise and training drills.
The content comprises an e-learning curriculum for each year. The modules comprises content on the following areas, depending on the year:
- DP Regulations and Guidance
- DP Testing and Trials
- DP Redundancy Concepts
- DP Position Reference System and Sensors
- DP System Computer, Controllers and Networks
- Power and Power Generation Systems and UPS
- Thrusters and Thruster Control Systems
- DP Operations
- DP Testing & Trials
Upon completion of the DP CPD Programme, learners will then take the NI Revalidation Online Exam
Prerequisites
DP or DPVM Certificate
Assessment
Pass mark of 80%.

Upon successfully completing the course and passing all assessments, you’ll receive your official certification from Maersk Training or the relevant accreditation body, available for download or print.
