General description
Several statistics and scientific researchs show a strong correlation between providing proper training and a reduction in accidents and injuries.
The purpose of the statutory training is to make sure all have a minimum level of competency in common. What we do in the Maritime department is to aim higher by challenging the course participants in their zone of proximal development. We not only measure the course participants knowledge improvement during the course, but are also able to support the customers with tools to measure and maintain the training acquired.
Our simulators in MOSAIC (Maritime Offshore Simulation And Innovation Centre) have proved to be very efficient in hands-on training as close to the seafarers real environment and context as possible. Ship-and Anchor handling, Dynamic Positioning , Bridge Resource Management are some of the courses that includes simulation exercises.
Our future prospects are to combine our bridge simulators with an engine simulator in MOSAIC II which is planned to be ready year 2012. This opens up options to train bridge and engine crews in bridge resource management, emergency management and combined ship and engine handling.
Hope to see you soon on one of our many maritime courses…You name it we´ll train it!
