Purpose

The AYS Associated Effective Management/Supervisory Skills course is designed to develop employees who are working, or intend to work, in a supervisory role. The course aims to help delegates overcome many of the supervisory problems they may encounter, whether they are a team leader, a project manager or a line manager.

Content

The syllabus consists of 10 modules:

  • Module 1 - Definition of a line-manager/supervisor

  • Module 2 - Communication

  • Module 3 - Team building

  • Module 4 - Handling conflict

  • Module 5 - Time management

  • Module 6 - Effective meetings

  • Module 7 - Dealing with stress

  • Module 8 - Coaching

  • Module 9 - Disciplinary procedures

  • Module 10 - Motivation


Objectives

The course covers the main areas of communication, meetings, coaching and developing confidence and skills to cope with this role.

Admission Requirements

Delegates who are working, or intend working, in a supervisory role.

Duration

2-3 days

Participants

This course requires a minimum of 4 delegates, and a maximum of 10 delegates.
