Rescue from Enclosed Spaces


Purpose

The Rescue from Enclosed Spaces course is an intensive course that is designed to develop delegates' abilities to rescue or evacuate personnel who may be trapped, injured or overcome in an enclosed space. Rescue from enclosed space is an essential part of the enclosed space safety training programme. The course is built around rescue procedures and is designed to ensure the safety of the rescuers and the best possible outcome.

Content

The syllabus consists of 8 modules, covering hands-on training in all relevant types of self contained breathing apparatus and associated rescue equipment:

• Module 1 - Tripods

• Module 2 - Fall arrest

• Module 3 - Winching arrangements

• Module 4 - Rescue stretchers

• Module 5 - Resuscitation

• Module 6 – Oxygen

• Module 7 - Gas monitoring equipment

• Module 8 - On site first aid
A competence assessment can be undertaken which would result in City and Guilds Certification.

Objectives

Leadership and teamwork are developed while delegates learn the latest extraction and evacuation techniques. On-site supervision is available to manage enclosed space operations. We can also provide safety/rescue teams and all ancillary equipment to be in attendance at high risk sites and operations.

 

Admission Requirements

Delegates must be physically and mentally fit and capable of entering the space. A self certification medical certificate is also required before course commencement.
