First Aid at Work - Aberdeen
Purpose
The First Aid at Work course is designed to provide delegates with basic HSE approved first aid training.
Content
The syllabus consists of 8 practical, lecture, and demonstration based modules.
- Module 1 - Aims and principles of first aid including basic life support (CPR)
- Module 2 - Assessment and treatment of wounded, bleeding or shocked casualty and common major and minor illnesses,
- Module 3 - Emergency transport of casualties
- Module 4 - How to deal with eye injuries and burns, and the effects of poisons, gases and fumes
- Module 5 - Legal aspects of first aid at work, record keeping and the use of equipment
- Module 6 - Management of the unconscious casualty
- Module 7 - Personal hygiene and the prevention of cross-infection during first aid procedures
- Module 8 - Treatment of injuries to bones, muscles and joints
Objectives
Delegates will receive a HSE approved first aid at work certificate upon successful course completion. In addition a course pack containing an up-to-date first aid manual will also be received.
Admission Requirements
Delegates that are trained in first aid must complete this course within three years of initial qualification. Photographic ID is also required.
