Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) - 3 Days - Aberdeen


Purpose

The BOSIET course enables delegates to gain a basic knowledge of specific safety issues relevant to offshore installations and an understanding of emergency response on an offshore installation and during helicopter transit.

Content

The BOSIET course consists of 4 modules, including both theory and practical sessions:

• Safety induction
• Sea survival and emergency first aid
• Fire fighting and self rescue
• Helicopter safety and escape

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, delegates will have earned a basic understanding and awareness of the hazards they will face when working offshore. They will also receive an introduction to the safety regime and safety management systems in place to control and mitigate those hazards. Following instructor explanation and demonstration delegates must show understanding and competency in the different course modules.

 

Admission Requirements

Delegates must be at least 16 years old and will be requires to complete a medical questionnaire.

3 days

Participants

Maximum 12 participants.
All persons employed or seeking employment on an offshore installation in the UKCS.


Language

All courses are delivered in English.

Venue

Maersk Training Aberdeen, Portlethen.
