Purpose

To give participants the necessary security skills required by the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code).

  • Physical search of a person and what to look for
  • Searching personal belongings and what to look for
  • Basic instructional skills
  • “Onboard Ship Security Personnel Training” - computer based training
  • Maersk Training Centre’s “Security Training, Drills and Exercises” package
  • How to plan and conduct the training, drills and exercises onboard


Objectives

The participant will be introduced to instructional techniques, pedagogical principles and structuring of cases and exercises. The participant will also be introduced to the “MTC Security Training, Drills and Exercises Package”.

 At the end of the training course the participant will be able to plan and conduct security training, drills and exercises onboard.

Admission Requirements

No distinct requirements, but preferable completion of VideoTel’s “Shipboard Security” or similar training.
