Unit Security Officer Assessment Programme



Purpose

To assess the Unit Security Officer candidate and to give the participant and his employer a simple assessment tool based on e-learning principles and a guide of how to study the Computer Based Training material and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code before the assessment.

  • A three-part assessment programme
  • 12 questionnaires (four questionnaires for each of the three assessments)
  • Introduction to the oil rig management
  • Introduction to the participant
  • Assessment of the Unit Security Officer via e-mail
  • Issuing of a Unit Security Officer certificate


Objectives

On completion of the assessment programme the Company will have the documentation for security training as required in the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code.

Admission Requirements

All drilling contractors’ management staff who are designated to act as Unit Security Officers or their deputies. Shore-based staff having specific security duties can also attend. It is a requirement that the participant has access to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code and approved Computed Based Training material e.g. VideoTel’s “Shipboard Security” or similar Ship Security Officer training material.


Duration

The Unit Security Officer Assessment Programme can be completed within six hours for all three assessments, not counting the time for studying the computer based training material and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. 


Participants

The programme is self-tuition through e-learning.
