Management of Major Emergencies
Purpose
Tailor-made exercises to test existing crises response plans, exercise participants in using them and to highlight the need for an effective crises response organisation. Broadly these tabletop products are conducted at three levels:
- Basic package comprises of a standard company scenario to create awareness by developing personal and group action plans
- Standard package (normal level) comprises tailor-made scenario to achieve defined objectives against existing crisis plans to create awareness and understanding through personal and group action plans
- Advanced package is a standard package reinforced by specific professional and detailed review of crisis plans and activities
Contents
The tabletop exercise includes the handling of:
- A major emergency, incident or threat
- Plans and processes to manage the problem
- Individual role playing and group activities
- Media questions and pressure, liaison with other key players and interested parties in scenario
- Deliverable outcomes and products from the Crisis team
- Damage assessment and limitations
- Relations and contacts with customers, local/national/international organisations and authorities
- Evacuation, relocation and business continuity
- Risk assessment
Objectives
To demonstrate the need for crises response plans and test them in a scenario. The objective has been fulfilled when the participant has evaluated their performance during the exercise and worked out a plan for what their initial actions will be in managing a major emergency.
Admission Requirements
Crises Management and Response Team members or those who are expected to have an assigned task or function during a major emergency.
Duration
Subject to customer requirements.
Participants
Maximum 15 persons grouped in three teams of fiveLanguage
The course will be conducted in English or Danish depending on the customer's request.
Venue
The course can be conducted at either Maersk Training Svendborg or at the customer’s venue.
