W109 - Basic Firefighting

Purpose

This course is designed to provide participants with necessary fire fighting knowledge and skills in order detect fire hazards and fight fires when working in a turbine.

Content

Training is based on guidelines in "Elementær brandbekæmpelse" developed by Dansk Brandteknisk Institut.

Main points are:

  • Fire prevention and general behavior in case of fire
  • Checklist for fire safety when working in wind turbines including development of standard fire instructions
  • The use of different fire extinguishers, their function pros and cons
  • Working with minor fire scenarios
  • Practical use of fire extinguishers and fire blanket

The course will be conducted in English, however if all participants
