Purpose

To give the professional workers who are members of the Safety Organisation on a drilling unit the required knowledge to carry out their duties according to the legislation in Denmark. A §14 Certificate is issued after completion of the course. The education is based on the paper: “Guidance for the Safety Organisation onboard mobile offshore units, 1997.”

• Work Place Instruction “Arbejdsplads Brugsanvisning”
• Daily safety routines including work permit system
• Practical exercise in how to make a risk assessment
• Cases and lessons learnt
• The blame-free philosophy and the accountability for safety philosophy
• Visit and practical exercise on a work-site
• Paperwork in the Safety Organisation
• Identification of near-miss accidents
• Accident investigation and required reporting
• Lecture by officers from Danish Energy Agency

Objective

Improve knowledge about the rules and regulations regarding:

• Performance and safety work onboard
• Chemical exposure
• Technical appliances
• Personal protective equipment
• Rig safety
• Safe job analysis, risk evaluation, making a workplace instruction

Admission Requirements

The Danish Energy Agency stipulates that this course is mandatory for all members of the Safety Group onboard drilling units in the Danish offshore sector.
