Purpose

The course should serve as a refresher course to ensure that the operations are well known to all relevant crew members. Operational cargo handling procedures should be available from the company to enable the crew to check and, if necessary, amend the procedures, giving the crew specific knowledge of their responsibilities and an opportunity to influence their future positions.

• Commence loading
• Complete loading inclusive staggering & ballast

Objective

To have gained knowledge about:

• The requirements of the charterer

 To understand:

• The operational requirements for the cargo machinery
• The line-up and preparations prior to cargo operations
• The cargo operation procedures

Be able to:

• Prepare the vessel for cargo operations
• Carry out cargo operations

Admission Requirements

It is recommended that all deck officers and cargo and gas engineers attend. However it is not limited to those ranks, and others, where the need may arise, are recommended to participate.
